在线学习 is a flexible option for busy students. Students may enroll in online courses to meet degree requirements, 选修一些课程, or complete courses ahead of time. Online courses do not meet on campus, and students complete assignments according to their own schedules. Many courses are unique to AU, and provide learning opportunities for enrolled and non-enrolled students.

Online courses are available during 艾伦学期(冬季) 和夏季学期. Some online courses are available during the fall and spring semesters. All online courses are taught with Canvas. Technical support is available from Information Technology Services. Online Student Support is available for all students enrolled in online courses.

Alfred University is a member of The National Council's State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (NC-SARA), which allows AU to provide online education to students in all NC-SARA州.
